DCM Service Rifle AR15 Barrel

Criterion’s DCM Service Rifle barrel features a stout contour that offers superior heat absorption and rigidity, making it an excellent option for service rifle and high power competitions. The 1-7.7 twist on the 20" Heavy Service Rifle model allows for improved performance with heavier 80 grain Sierra MatchKings without sacrificing the performance of lighter ammunition for rapid strings of fire.

Why DCM Service Rifle?

• Added chamber material - absorbs heat evenly during hard use and increases rigidity
• Heavy frame - superior heat absorption, stability, and rigidity
• .223 Rem Match chamber with 1:7.7 twist - optimized for heavier 80 grain Sierra MatchKings ammunition
• Stainless Steel - improved barrel break-in
• Honed - refines bore for superior uniformity to reduce bullet deformation
• Hand-lapped - essential to accuracy and to minimize fouling
• Polished chamber - reliable extraction and feeding
• Rifle gas system - optimized gas port for suppressed or unsuppressed use
• 0.750” gas journal - easy and secure installation
• 1/2x28 muzzle threads OR 11° target - compatible with most muzzle devices and suppressors
• Precision-machined barrel extension - safe and reliable feeding

Why Headspace Matters

Purchasing a headspaced bolt is not required. However, Criterion's headspace service guarantees optimal bolt to barrel fitment using premeasured bolts and certified headspace gauges, helping to maximize the performance and function of your build.

Headspace (the critical measurement from the bolt face to the shoulder of the chamber), must be checked for optimal performance and reliability. Proper headspace produces consistent chamber pressures and seating depths which results in increased accuracy and reliability, while reducing wear and tear on internal parts and components.
